Property Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive / Paralegal

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Property Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) or Paralegal to join our busy Property team.

The successful candidate will work directly in our Property team, where they will act for individuals instructing the firm on a variety of residential and commercial conveyancing matters.  The successful candidate will be both proactive and approachable, able to manage their own case load, whilst integrating fully into our friendly Property team.

We offer extensive training opportunities and very much encourage and support career progression and development within the Firm.

You will be expected to advise clients or, depending on experience, assist with advising clients in the following areas:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Re-mortgages, transfer of equity, and equity release
  • Lease extensions, shared ownership, and tenancy agreements
  • Liaising with estate agents, brokers and clients to ensure seamless transactions
  • Providing tailored legal advice to a diverse client base, including first-time buyers, families and investors

Other aspects of the role include:

  • Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions
  • Training and development of junior colleagues

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of the above matters
  • Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files independently
  • Excellent technical skills and innovative approach to their application

Paralegal in Litigation & Family

Penderlaw are currently seeking a full time, permanent Paralegal in Litigation and Family, with immediate start.

The successful candidate will work directly in our Litigation and Family team, where they will act for individuals instructing the firm on a variety of matters including family, civil and commercial litigation. We offer extensive training opportunities and very much encourage and support career progression and development within the Firm.

You will be expected to advise clients, with support where needed, in the following:

  • Civil litigation matters
  • Family law
  • Commercial transactions

Key responsibilities and other aspects of the role include:

  • Call handling, taking messages and reporting back to the Fee Earners, including new enquiries
  • Taking client instructions, updating clients and third parties on the progression of their matter (both in personal meetings and via telephone and emails)
  • General administration and housekeeping of files
  • Initial drafting emails, letters, court documents and financial statements
  • Adhering to deadlines and monthly financial team targets
  • Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions
  • Training and development of junior colleagues

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting multiple fee earners on a variety of legal matters within this area of law. The role offers the ideal candidate the opportunity to progress, with the firm having a track record of training and promoting members of staff from entry level through to qualified positions.
