Demelza Dunstan becomes new Head of Property

We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Demelza Dunstan to lead our highly regarded (and busy!) Property Team.

Demelza Dunstan appointed Head of Property

Demelza joined Penderlaw in 2016 following a spell away from practice teaching law and is vastly experienced and highly skilled in all aspects of residential conveyancing, with particular expertise in complex transactions. She also advises on commercial property transactions.

Cornish born and bred as her name suggests, Demelza leads a team of experienced Property lawyers including Jennifer Harfoot, who has also been promoted to Property Executive and Conveyancing Operations Manager, and Jenna Michaels who recently completed her LPC studies after joining the firm earlier this year.

Strenghtening Penderlaw’s Property Team

Demelza said “I’m proud of the growing team I lead and their unwavering professionalism and dedication to what they do. It’s a demanding area of law to be in, but rewarding too, especially when we receive lovely feedback from happy clients.”

Promotion for Jennifer Harfoot

Jennifer Harfoot joined the firm in 2021 with no prior experience in the industry and has since discovered a real aptitude and love for conveyancing. She is progressing within the firm and is currently undertaking a law conversion course, working towards achieving a master’s degree in law. Jennifer’s flair is clearly demonstrated by the huge number of glowing client reviews she receives on a regular basis.

Investing in Future Legal Talent

Dimitri Karapanos, our current Trainee Solicitor, is due to complete his Training Contract and qualify as a Solicitor in December 2026, within the property department.  His progression demonstrates the firm’s commitment to investing in and supporting the development of its people, while strengthening the continued growth of the department.

Sara Tucker, Practice Manager at Penderlaw, said “After ten years with the firm, it’s lovely to see Demelza take on this role. She’s a fantastic role model, highly respected by her team, and I’m looking forward to seeing the department continue to thrive. We feel very fortunate to be able to recruit such high calibre individuals to join the firm, people who share our commitment to delivering the high-quality service our clients value. Due to the ongoing success of the team, we now looking to recruit another residential conveyancer and we are excited about what the future holds.”
